English: The main objective is the phonological awareness of the end of words, since they have to have sensitivity to be able to make rhyme/rhyme. During the activity they were presented with pictures of animals and some loose words. The children first had to match the picture to the name of the animal. After contacting with the words they were presented with a rhyme sentence (lenga-lenga) entitled “This house is from…”. The activity consisted in making the students aware of the characteristic of the house described and assigning it an inhabitant (one of the animals previously presented). By working on phonological awareness at the end of words the children naturally came up with the right answers, as they quickly realised that they could find the animal that lived in that house if its name rhymed with the highlighted word. Once the nursery rhyme had been learnt and read from picture text, the children were given one last challenge: they each had to find a word that rhymed with their name and make a work proposal to be presented. It was so much fun to rhyme and make funny rhymes!
