Who we are

Read-Com is a “ERASMUS+ KA2 Strategic Partnerships” project funded with support from the European Commission. Coordinated by Universidad de Málaga (UMA) and formed by eight institutions of different countries.

With great enthusiasm and hard work, this consortium hopes to contribute to the Europe 2020 strategy for social growth.

The Institutions

University of Málaga

The need for the project is based Research on the importance of reading in L1 and L2 in educational and family contexts has been doing for more than a decade. This group has experience in the educational context related to the objective of the project, being professionals that work within the university and the schools. It is for this reason that they will coordinate all the activities of the project, as well as the creation of the toolkit.

University of Granada

This group participated in the aforementioned thesis, specifically from the analysis of the data collected, providing rigorous educational approaches, thus ensuring educational planning as adjusted to the school context. That is why, being a multidisciplinary team of methodologists and linguists specialized in native and foreign language.

Manchester Metropolitan University

This team have extensive experience of conducting qualitative research with and for professionals and communities. We have specific expertise in the teaching of reading and of innovative methodologies with teachers and communities. MMU will be responsible for the creation of a narrative framework to enable each partner to construct a detailed Curriculum Narrative and MMU will collate these narratives and provide a detailed summary wich will be used to inform further outputs from the project.

Centro Machiavelli

It is a linguistic centre with extensive experience in international educational innovation projects, having previously held responsibility for technical coordination, so that its profile is adjusted to this coordination.

Associação Jardim-Escola João de Deus

The Association of centers that participate in the learning of the reading competition and the educational innovation, that give access to a large number of schools involved in the objective of the project, has a wide experience in the learning of the language, being its method of reading which is used in the Portuguese public schools. Besides being promoters of the impulse of the relationship family-school in the development of habits and attitudes of reading favorable. This partner has the great advantage that includes university studies of the degree of early childhood education and the degree of primary education which implements their learning and knowledge acquired with the students of primary and secondary education throughout the Process that lasts their studies.

C.E.I.P. Rosa de Gálvez

It is a center involved in several educational innovation projects, especially those related to the promotion of reading and the promotion of the family in the life of the center. In his school it finds diversity of students among whom we find migrants and socially disadvantaged and students with specific needs of educational support. Work by project and cooperative learning facilitates the inclusion of all the altogether. It is necessary to emphasize the relationship so fluent and constant with the families and with the environment. They participate in class activities, cultural weeks, outings and decisions of the classroom and center through class delegates, school boards and parent associations, in short, are an active part of the educational.

Istituto Compresivo Statale Giovanni XXIII

It is a center involved in several educational innovation projects, especially those related to the promotion of reading and the promotion of the family in the life of the center.

Institouto Technologias y Pologistonkai Ekdos

It is an organization focused on education, developing and deploying conventional and digital media in education and lifelong learning; Publication of printed and electronic educational materials.

Read-Com is about to improve the Reading habits at home and at school, so that all the children could have the same opportunities in the future. With great enthusiasm and hard work, this consortium hopes to contribute to the Europe 2020 strategy for social growth. The objective is to develop “Reading Education Toolkit” and “Read Animation APP” for the members of the educational community.
